Something new – the DVD launch party

What a night! The Dub Echoes DVD launch party in London was a total sucess. Although it was a beautiful sunny day outside, from very early on the Cafe 1001, in Brick Lane, was packed, with even people watching the film standing! The Q&A with director Bruno Natal, Don Letts and Adrian Sherwood and hosted by Emma Watson went down smoothly. Many good questions and observations about the film were made, it is always good to have such feedback. The following party, with sets by Letts, Sherwood, Cotti and Cluekid had people lining up outside for a chance to get in. You can see some pictures at Dub Echoes Flickr page. Thanks to everyone who came around! Now the DVD is out for everyone to enjoy!

“Dub Echoes” is a documentary that traces the origins of the Jamaican dub music and it’s influence on the development of hip hop and electronic music. The film shows how the Jamaican invention called dub ended up influencing much of the music we hear today, from electronic music to hip-hop, transforming the studio in a musical instrument and giving way to all of sonic experiments.
